How Much Money Did Hope for Haiti Raise? – Celebrities came together on Friday, Jan. 22 to help raise money to benefit Haiti in the wake of a devastating earthquake that has claimed thousands of lives. Jay-Z, Rihanna, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and others performed live from London, New York and Los Angeles as part of Hope For Haiti Now’s telethon.

Jennifer Hudson performed a powerful rendition of Paul McCartney’s “Let It Be,” while another songstress, Beyonce, stuck to her own music, singing “Halo.”  Rihannna performed alongside Jay-Z and Bono. The trio collaborated on an original song, entitled “Stranded.”  Wyclef Jean, who is a Haitian American, talked about being in Haiti last week and pulling bodies out of the rubble.

It’s great to see all these wonderful performers and celebrities from all walks of entertainment come together to raise money for this tragic event. So many people over in Haiti need our help right now and it’s so refreshing to know that there are those out there that are caring and compassionate.
